the algorithm for solving the inverse numerical range problem

Derivative Pricing, Numerical Methods

Numerical methods are needed for derivatives pricing in cases where analytic solutions are either unavailable or not easily computable. Examples of the former case include American-style options and most discretely observed path-dependent options. Examples of the latter type include the analytic formula for valuing continuously observed Asian options in [28], which is very hard to calculate for...

Numerical methods for locating small dielectric inhomogeneities

We present numerical simulations illustrating the reconstruction of data for electromagnetic inverse problems. Two situations are considered: prescribed electric field and measured magnetic field at the boundary of a medium with cylindrical symmetries, and the analysis of the far field pattern of a scattered field produced by the incidence of an incoming wave on a set of small inhomogeneities. ...

Numerical Methods for Fuzzy Linear Partial Differential Equations under new Definition for Derivative

In this paper difference methods to solve "fuzzy partial differential equations" (FPDE) such as fuzzy hyperbolic and fuzzy parabolic equations are considered. The existence of the solution and stability of the method are examined in detail. Finally examples are presented to show that the Hausdorff  distance between the exact solution and approximate solution tends to zero.

Adaptive logarithmic discretization for numerical renormalization group methods

The problem of the logarithmic discretization of an arbitrary positive function (such as the density of states) is studied in general terms. Logarithmic discretization has arbitrary high resolution around some chosen point (such as Fermi level) and it finds application, for example, in the numerical renormalization group (NRG) approach to quantum impurity problems (Kondo model), where the conti...
